Setup and connect Zoom H6 audio interface

This guide is to help with the connection of the Zoom H6 Audio interface to Simon’s MacBook Pro.

Note: Do this after setting up the wireless microphones and connecting the iPod and speaker

What you will need

  • Zoom H6 Audio Interface
  • USB mini cable

Connect the Zoom H6 to the USB Hub

  1. Make sure the Zoom H6 is off
  2. Make sure the USB Hub is connected to the laptop
  3. Make sure the laptop is turned on
  4. Connect the Zoom H6 to the USB hub using the microUSB cable

Power up the Zoom H6 and select ‘audio interface’

  1. Power up the Zoom H6 using the Power switch on the lower lefthand side
  2. Select ‘audio interface’ by pressing the select switch halfway up on the righthand side
  3. Select ‘audio interface’ by pressing the select switch halfway up on the righthand side
  4. Select ‘PC/Mac’ by pressing the select switch halfway up on the righthand side

Turn on Microphones and iPod inputs

  1. Press either the L or R button to turn on the iPod input
  2. Press the 1, 2 and 3 buttons to turn on microphones 1, 2 and 3
  3. By default all the input volume controls should be set to about 4

Setup wireless microphones

This guide is to help with the setup of the microphones and H6 Audio interface which then connects to Simon’s MacBook Pro.

Note: Do this step before turning on the Zoom H6 and connecting it to the laptop

What you will need

  • Microphone 1 – lapel
  • Microphone 2 – hand held
  • Microphone 3 – hand held
  • Zoom H6
  • 3 x XLR cables

Setup Microphone 1

  1. Add fresh batteries
  2. Connect XLR cable to receiver
  3. Connect XLR cable to Zoom H6 via XLR input 1
  4. Open receiver and body pack and turn both ON

Setup Microphone 2

  1. Add fresh batteries
  2. Connect XLR cable to receiver
  3. Connect XLR cable to Zoom H6 via XLR input 2
  4. Turn receiver ON

Setup Microphone 3

  1. Add fresh batteries
  2. Connect XLR cable to receiver
  3. Connect XLR cable to Zoom H6 via XLR input 3
  4. Turn receiver ON
